Candidate Statement:  My name is Nevin Elliott. I am a stakeholder in the Harbor City Community. I have lived in Harbor City and the surrounding south bay areas since 1986, attending Narbonne High School and Los Angeles Harbor College. I have coached voluntarily with Tri-city Falcons and other local parks & recreations, along with many years of employment as a youth sports coach. I am running for a seat on the board to help with improving our community in a positive way.

Candidate Statement:  Hello, my name is Rosa Lagunas; I am running for a board seat on the Harbor City Neighborhood Council.  I’ve lived in Harbor City for 12 years and my intention for running derives from experiencing two traumatic events in my apartment complex. Since witnessing these events, I’ve made it my mission to be a proactive community member by volunteering for events such as Harbor City’s’ Winter Wonderland and the Council Districts 15 Job fair, among others. My proven history of service, dedication, desire and passion for bringing positive resources to Harbor City makes me the best candidate for this seat.

Candidate Statement:  My name is Freshta Sidiqi, a South Bay resident, homeowner and a stakeholder in the Harbor City community. I am a SPED teacher at NHS, where I work with students, families, the school community and outside organizations to provide an equitable education for 9-12th students. I would like to run for a board seat to support in creating and fostering a safe and welcoming environment that is centered on community spirit for my students, their families, and the residents of Harbor City. As an educator and community stakeholder my values are centered on collaboration, advocacy, outreach and restorative practices.
